On Saturday, Aug. 5 the Salina YMCA celebrated Healthy Kids Day by unveiling its new childcare space, "Kids Gym."
"The kid's gym is an opportunity for us to serve kids in the Salina community from six weeks to 10 years old," Lassley said. "We refreshed all the equipment that's inside that way the kids have something fun and exciting and new."
Lassley said the Kid Gym features different activity stations that engage a child's creative, physical, and emotional sides.
Angie Lassley, who serves as the president and CEO for the Salina YMCA, sat down and spoke about the numerous ongoing projects and partnerships taking place at the Y including a partnership to serve as KWU's official recreation center, the work the YMCA is doing to increase childcare access and the YMCA being named as a Salina Area United Way Funded Partner for the second year in a row.
Lassley also shares a little bit about herself and how the first job she ever had was for the YMCA.
